We are a founder-led architecture studio.

We take on a small number of residential commissions each year, design each one personally and stay involved until your home is finished.

We design with three core principles at the heart of every project.

Exceptional private homes in Cheshire, Manchester and London.

1.

Listen first.

We spend time understanding how you actually live before we draw anything. The useful brief is rarely the list of rooms. It is the detail of your daily life, and we design around it.

2.

Design that lasts.

Fashions date. Proportion, natural light and well-chosen materials do not. We design homes intended to feel as right in thirty years as they do on the day you move in.

3.

Delivery.

A design is only as good as its delivery. We carry planning, interior design, and construction experience in-house, so the scheme that wins approval is the scheme that gets built.

About the studio

Golden Triangle Architects is a residential design studio based in Wilmslow, with a London studio in Mayfair. We design new houses, whole-house transformations and substantial extensions for clients who want a home designed around them and built properly.

We work from two studios. From Wilmslow we cover Cheshire and Manchester, from the Golden Triangle to Hale, Bowdon and Didsbury. From Mayfair we work across London, where recent projects include the remodelling of a Victorian terrace in Finsbury Park. For the right project we will travel further: our current commissions include a house in the North York Moors.

The studio is small on purpose. The architect who sketches your home is the same architect who argues your case at planning and stands next to you on site. That continuity shows in the finished building.

How We Think

Listen first. We spend time understanding how you actually live before we draw anything. The useful brief is rarely the list of rooms. It is the detail of your daily life, and we design around it.

Design that lasts. Fashions date. Proportion, natural light and well-chosen materials do not. We design homes intended to feel as right in thirty years as they do on the day you move in.

Delivery. A design is only as good as its delivery. We carry planning expertise and construction experience in-house, so the scheme that wins approval is the scheme that gets built.

A design-led approach unlocks the full potential of your home, creating a space that inspires, enriches, and elevates your everyday life.

Darren Sharp

"We only have praise for Charlie's first class service. He’s gone above and beyond at times, managed our expectations, but always been willing to answer our questions and look at the viability of our “what if” questions. I know architect fees look scary, but we wouldn’t have done this process any different. His knowledge and experience really has driven the project and ensured we squeeze every penny of value out of the project."

 Ken Wong

"I recently worked with Golden Triangle Architects on a project and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. The team was professional, knowledgeable, and provided excellent guidance throughout the entire process.

They took the time to understand my needs and offered creative solutions to ensure that the final design was functional and aesthetically pleasing. I highly recommend their architecture design services and planning permission advice."

The Gibbons Family

"Very helpful support for our planning application. Charlie was clear in his advice, came up with a proposal we love, and accommodated last minute changes by us.

Planning approval wasn’t guaranteed so we were really pleased to have our application approved first time."

Ted Mulcauley

"A really good architecture firm. They provided great advice, plenty of back & forth in terms of answering our questions, and genuine consultancy in suggesting our best options. With their help we've come to the best conclusion for our house. Charlie too was very friendly & quick to answer all questions.."

Planning is where ambitious projects most often fail. It is also where we do some of our best work.

We prepare and manage the full planning application on every project, and we have particular experience with conservation areas, listed buildings and protected landscapes. Before anything is submitted, we test the design against local policy and precedent, so the scheme that goes in is a scheme the authority can approve.

We will never promise a planning outcome. No honest architect can. What we offer is an application built on evidence, presented properly and argued for with conviction.

Our record shows what that approach earns. The Finsbury Park remodelling and extension was approved first time, within the Stroud Green Conservation Area in Haringey. Our house in the North York Moors was approved first time by the National Park Authority.

The best homes begin with a conversation.

We take on a limited number of new commissions each year. If you are considering a project in Cheshire, Manchester, London or further afield, we would like to hear about it.

Come for coffee at our Wilmslow studio, meet us in Mayfair by appointment, or ask us to come to you.

Tell us what you have in mind and we will tell you, honestly, what we think it can become.
