The architectural design process typically takes several months to a year, depending on the complexity of the project. It begins with the pre-design phase, where your Architect will gather information about your needs, preferences, and budget. This phase includes site analysis, where the Architect studies the site to determine the best orientation and layout for your home. The pre-design phase typically takes one to two months.

Next is the schematic design phase, where your Architect will create initial sketches and models based on your requirements and the site analysis. These designs are then refined and developed into more detailed drawings during the design development phase. These two phases usually take two to four months.

Following this is the construction documents phase, where your Architect will produce detailed drawings and specifications that will be used for construction. This phase also includes obtaining necessary permits and approvals from local authorities, which can take anywhere from one to three months depending on the complexity of the project and the speed of the local authority.

The final phase is the construction phase, where your Architect will monitor the construction to ensure it aligns with the design. This phase varies greatly in length, depending on the size and complexity of the project, but typically takes several months to a year.
